Barry Athletic U12 Football Team

Sponsorship from the 1910 Trust has enabled the club to achieve the following over the past 18 months:

Recent update from Barry U11’s:

“Having just finished our last season at mini football we are now looking forward to our 1st season at Junior competitive football next season so lots to prepare with lots of new rule changes and bits for the children to learn, as next season is more children on field we also find ourselves looking to recruit more children.

We have just managed to have our end of season presentation for them so managed to hand out the below to them which they were all overjoyed with, the day went really well having booked the rugby club for this allowing them a good few hours to socialise and play in a more relaxed environment.

  • Rucksacks – £ 590.20
  • Goal Posts – £286.18
  • Wrist Bands – £ 32.74
  • Trophies – £392.45
  • Coach Training FAW Goalkeeper – £75″

  • 2 x full sets of training bibs
  • Various other training equipment including pegs, tape etc…

Increase player numbers

  • Increase team number to 16
  • Allowing us to supply extra boys with equipment as we moved up to 11 aside

Player Subs

  • Allowed us to keep the costs down to the parents who often have lots of expensive with additional children playing sport
  • Making us a truly inclusive team where money will not be a boundary to stopping kids from playing football

Additional qualification

  • Both coaches have been able to go on and complete the FAW C certificate which costs several hundred pounds per coach – part funded by Barry Athletic
  • Course included 5 practical days, 3 mentoring sessions
  • Various e-learning activities
  • Allowing us to coach on develop all players and the key pillars of football

Winter Training & Match days

  • We played more games last season than any other
  • Jenner park was used last year for a great training venue
  • On match days we were able to either find & pay for our own 3G pitch or pay for the council 3G pitches at the sports centre
  • This would not have been possible without your support
  • This year we have been able to secure a large outdoor winter Training facility which is fantastic as we now need a bigger space playing 11 aside
