“From all of us at Barry Town Women U13s, we would like to thank the staff at 1910 for the support with our application. We would like to tell you how their support has helped us improve, from the girls on the pitch to our future plans.

The funding donated to us by the 1910 Trust  has allowed us to purchase new football cones and bibs, as well as extra equipment including portable goals We have used this equipment to train at the beach and can plan to go to any location and not have to restrict games or training due to pitch availability. We have also planned to continue to run sessions through the summer where we would normally have to stop. Our coaches are booked to attend coaching qualification courses that will give them added knowledge and skills to further develop the team as a whole and as individuals. We have also booked a 3G pitch for winter training, our previous venue was small and outdated and not ideal for football, but it was all that was available at the time.  With the added space and knowledge from the courses, we are adapting our sessions, working with individuals, setting specific training goals as well as offering sessions that are relevant to match day scenarios. With the added space, we have seen a huge improvement to the girls game, aims attitude within the sessions and have even been able to add new players to our team. Lastly we have purchased each player a club training kit, so as well as looking smart and having an identity, this has been a huge relief for parents to lessen the cost and allow the girls to play and enjoy football.

If a would like to continue to follow our journey through the season please add us on Instagram – barrytowngirls_u13s.”
