The grant received from the 1910 Trust was used to purchase equipment, including litter pickers, gloves and bag hoops, to enable volunteers to undertake clean up activities, as either individual litter champions, or as part of a larger group in Cardiff. This has enabled the litter pickers to operate safely and with the appropriate equipment needed to undertake litter picking operations across Cardiff.
This funding enabled:
- 2,709 Community Group activities
- 11,261 bags of litter to be collected
- 10,701 hours of voluntary work
In addition:
- 2,238 Litter Champion Activities were recorded
- 2,621 Bags of litter were collected
- 4,146 volunteer hours were provided
- 471 other activities and one off events generated
- 7,115 bags of litter to be collected
- 8,081 volunteer hours to be provided
As a consequence the project has generated a total of:
- 5,418 activities
- 20,997 bags of litter were collected
- 22,928 volunteer hours were registered
