Llandaff 50+

“Llandaff 50+ is grateful for the grant from the Cardiff YMCA (1910) Trust as it will help to fund an intergenerational archaeological Dig planned for the autumn.  The Dig will be in the medieval cattle pound which is adjacent to the 13th century Bishop’s Castle, in the very centre of Llandaff.  It will be a unique opportunity for older people to work with children and young people from local schools, under the guidance of professional archaeologists, and is already creating much excitement and research work in our village city.

I’ve also attached the photo of Roger passing the cheque on to Yvonne Apsitis (Chair) at the February meeting.  Also in the picture are Baroness Finlay of Llandaff, Matthew Williams (Curator of Cardiff Castle) both Llandaff 50+ Patrons, and Cllr Sean Driscoll.  If you need a higher resolution, just let me know.

We’re planning to do the Dig in September, just before the building begins in October………………………..!”
