As always, our volunteers have been a fantastic support – contributing to the gardening, running patient workshops, assisting with fundraising efforts, and, of course, keeping us well-supplied with cake!

We were also delighted to welcome our new WRAGs trainee, Dawn, who joined us in May and is already making a great start.

Our arts activities for patients have included mosaic workshops, willow weaving, and watercolour painting. We’ve  also  been  fortunate  to  enjoy  live  music performances usually twice a month which add a lovely atmosphere to the garden. Our monthly garden tours began in April and will continue throughout the summer.

The garden has been a vibrant hub of activity in recent months. We celebrated St David’s Day with daffodils, bara brith, and Welsh cakes, which brought smiles all round.

We’ve also hosted corporate volunteering days with RWK Goodman and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), focusing on developing the garden area surrounding the independent living facility.

We also held our fundraising lunch at The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge. It was a truly special event, with a raffle, a merchandise stall, and lovely flower arrangements from the garden. One of our current patients gave a heartfelt

speech that moved everyone in the room.
